Assistant Director of Information Technology (Student Information Systems) (ITO) (Ref: 25002IL)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (Digitalisation and A.I.), the successful candidate will primarily:
Lead the strategic planning, deployment, and ongoing support of the University’s Student Information Systems and associated applications;
Ensure seamless system integration, maintain data integrity, and drive process improvements to support smooth information exchange across academic units and administrative departments;
Partner with stakeholders to assess requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver solutions that address both current and future institutional needs;
Oversee system upgrades, procurement processes, vendor management, and project execution to achieve agreed timelines and quality benchmarks;
Guide and supervise the information systems team in developing, enhancing, and maintaining ERP and other enterprise applications within the University;
Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications, expertise, and attributes:
A recognized degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline;
Strong background and practical experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft platforms, technical infrastructure, mobile application development, AI integration, and web content management, together with hands-on involvement in student administration/ERP systems and Web Portals. Prior managerial experience in higher education institutions is preferred;
Extensive knowledge of web, application, and database server configuration and administration is advantageous;
Proven leadership qualities, self-motivation, and a proactive approach, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in both English and Chinese.
