Major Responsibilities
Support architectural design and solutions for database systems and AIX software to meet business and cost goals
Administer and manage DB2, Oracle, and SQL databases
Install and configure database tools (e.g., Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate)
Design and implement backup, recovery, disaster recovery, mirroring, HA, security, and 24/7 operations
Apply software upgrades, security patches, and maintain AIX-related systems
Monitor systems, tune performance, and plan capacity
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents efficiently
Maintain accurate and updated system documentation
Ensure database availability, integrity, and security
Collaborate with technical teams and vendors on system setup
Advise development teams on database design for projects
Track and report system performance using monitoring tools
Deliver training on new database developments
Research and recommend improvements to database tools and services
Provide guidance on database features and utilities
Offer 24/7 on-call and on-site emergency support
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
Degree in Electrical/Electronic, Computer Engineering/Science, or related field
At least 7 years’ experience in DBA roles
Strong knowledge of DB2, Oracle, and related tools
Familiar with AIX systems and software
Skilled in root-cause analysis and problem solving
Quick learner through self-study and hands-on experience
Willing to work evening/holiday shifts as needed
Fluent in English and Chinese (spoken and written)
Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
