Senior Manager, Data Centre and User Support
Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, the appointee will primarily:
Oversee the establishment and deployment of IT infrastructure across all University campuses, including satellite offices.
Supervise the operation, upkeep, and security of the University’s data centre, cabling systems, campus networks, Wi-Fi, data communications, end-user devices, computer labs, and learning commons.
Drive ongoing enhancement of end-user technology services throughout the institution.
Lead the planning and implementation of major infrastructure projects, such as smart campus development, cloud adoption, and digital transformation initiatives.
Manage vendor partnerships, contracts, and procurement activities related to IT infrastructure and services.
Work closely with academic units and administrative departments to assess technology needs and align solutions with institutional goals.
Provide user assistance through hotline and helpdesk services.
Direct the team to ensure efficient delivery of IT solutions and services (e.g., software installation and support) to various Schools and Offices.
Offer support to University committees and user groups.
Undertake any additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
A recognized degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Strong expertise and experience in IT infrastructure management and end-user service delivery, with preference for candidates who have held managerial roles in higher education institutions.
Extensive background in managing data centres, computer facilities, teaching laboratories, and related resources.
Postgraduate and/or professional certifications in service management or information security will be considered an advantage.
Proven leadership ability, independence, initiative, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in both English and Chinese.
